These Things

Wars and rumors of war

I woke up one morning in September 2011, going about my daily chores. Suddenly, I heard a voicethat asked me

“Do you see these things?”

Immediately, as if he knew I would want to know which things he was asking about, he gave me this scriptural passage(Matt 24:2):

And Jesus said to them, ‘Do you not see all these things? Assuredly, I say to you, not one stone shall be left here upon another, that shall not be thrown down’.

At this point, I needed nobody to tell me that the voice was asking concerning the end of age. I took my gaze off the temple of Jerusalem cited in that scripture to this present world. I looked round the continent of Africa; I saw wars and rumors of war. In the Asian continent, I saw natural disasters and so on. Then I came down to Nigeria. It is Boko Haram. This immediately ministered to me the fact that the end is near even at the very door. I said okay, the church would be a solution. Then the voice told me that the church has lost her focus. The church has left her commission of making disciples of all nations, leaving the nations to perish at the hands of the devil. In fact, the church is signing agreement with the prince of this world and so ungodliness has flooded the church like leprosy. I groaned and shouted from within, “WHO WILL BELL THE CAT?”

Dearly beloved, I ask you now:

“Do you see THESE THINGS?”

Do you see these wars, chaos, and natural disasters, social and economic unrest? Do you see these certificates you are pursuing, the wealth you are striving and killing to acquire? Do you see the s
kin you are sinning to maintain and materials you are struggling to acquire with inordinate means? Do you know that immediately you close your eyes in death, you willforget about all of them? The bible says that there shall not be left here one stone upon another that shall not be thrown down. None of these things would stand the rage of that day. It is unfortunate that the devil has made man to lose sight of eternity in his daily pursuit; even in our churches today.

Judge you this day yourself whether you are still in Christ if you have been before. If you have never been, I urge you this day to make a decision that will place you right in eternity.

I pray you to pause at this point and make peace with God. It is appointed unto man once to die, after that, judgment. No matter how far you have strayed, I assure you that our father is waiting with arms open wide to embrace you if you return. Take that bold step now. Jesus loves you.
