God-Breathed Scriptures

‘All scriptures is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness 2 Tim 3:16’ Our privilege through this time is to study one of the books in the Bible that bears the name of a woman! The book of Esther with its 10 chapters and 165 verses gives us a segment of Jewish history not supplied elsewhere in the bible and provides a valuable portrait of the vast majority of Jews who chose to remain in Persia rather than return to Palestine. The unknown author has an extensive knowledge of Persian etiquette and customs but also of Jewish customs and culture. It is unique in all of Scripture in that God is never mentioned.
