“Search the Scriptures.” John 5:39

scripturescroll

The Greek word here rendered search signifies a strict, close, diligent, curious search, such as men make when they are seeking gold, or hunters when they are in earnest after game. We must not rest content with having given a superficial reading to a chapter or two, but with the candle of the Spirit we must deliberately seek out the hidden meaning of the word. Holy Scripture requires searching–much of it can only be learned by careful study. There is milk for babes, but also meat for strong men. The rabbis wisely say that a mountain of matter hangs upon every word, yea, upon every title of Scripture. Tertullian exclaims, “I adore the fulness of the Scriptures.” No man who merely skims the book of God can profit thereby; we must dig and mine until we obtain the hid treasure. The door of the word only opens to the key Continue reading …

THE BEST WAY TO UNDERSTAND THE PERSIAN KING – AHASUERUS

In the previous study, the introductory, we saw according to the scriptures that all scriptures are God-breathed and is profitable for doctrine, correction, reproof and so on. The end result is that the child of God will be thoroughly furnished for every good work. In this study, we shall first of all understand this Persian king. Until we do, we will not be able to appreciate what God wants us to learn from the book of Esther. Just as we said in the previous introductory study, the book of Esther is the only book of the bible without the mention of the word ‘God’. Let’s begin from chapter one verse one “Now it came to pass in the days of Ahasuerus (this was the Ahasuerus who reigned over one hundred and twenty-seven provinces, from India to Ethiopia),” FIRST APPROACH – THE KNOWLEDGE OF HIS JURISDICTION The very first approach towards Continue reading …

God-Breathed Scriptures

‘All scriptures is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness 2 Tim 3:16’ Our privilege through this time is to study one of the books in the Bible that bears the name of a woman! The book of Esther with its 10 chapters and 165 verses gives us a segment of Jewish history not supplied elsewhere in the bible and provides a valuable portrait of the vast majority of Jews who chose to remain in Persia rather than return to Palestine. The unknown author has an extensive knowledge of Persian etiquette and customs but also of Jewish customs and culture. It is unique in all of Scripture in that God is never mentioned. In fact, there is no reference to God, to prayer or to supplication. It was most probably written at a time when it was extremely dangerous to make any open profession of Continue reading …

DEVOUT MUSLIM HEZBOLIAH MILITANT SEES JESUS

We are all slaves. However there are two types of slaves. We can either be slaves to righteousness and holiness or saves to sin and depravity. In John 8:34, Jesus replied, “Very truly I tell you, everyone who sins is a slave to sin. Sin is an act of disobedience and lawlessness. Those who are slaves to sin are fathered by Satan while those are slaves to righteousness and holiness are fathered by the who brought light to the world. In heaven he was called the “Word” of God for he was not created but was in the beginning with God. Apostle John got the revelation of thus, 1 “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2 The same was in the beginning with God. 3 All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made Continue reading …

What to gain from caring for the poor

poor

Blessed is he that considereth the poor: the LORD will deliver him in time of trouble. 2 The LORD will preserve him, and keep him alive; and he shall be blessed upon the earth: and thou wilt not deliver him unto the will of his enemies. 3 The LORD will strengthen him upon the bed of languishing: thou wilt make all his bed in his sickness. Psalm 41:1-3. Brethren, remember those who are in need around us. Care for the less previlage in and and about us. Jésus-Christ said in the book of Matthew 26:11,”The poor you will always have with you, but you will not always have me”. In Matthew 25:34-39 ,our lord used the parable Sheep and the Goat to illustrate how he expects us to care for others who are struggling for the basics of life, “Then the King will say to those on his right, ‘Come, Continue reading …

THE FRUIT AND POWER OF THE HOLY SPIRIT

The Holy Spirit dwells within man to be his life, and He rests upon man to be his power. The Spirit’s indwelling in man is for the purpose of becoming life to the believers and also for the purpose of producing the fruit of the Spirit in the believer’s living, such as holiness, righteousness, endurance, and joy. The Spirit’s outpouring upon man is for the purpose of clothing the believers with the Lord’s power for their testimony and also for the purpose of producing the gifts of the Spirit and empowering the believers to work for the Lord for the accomplishment of His will.

socialnwk

If you followed my article titled “HOW TO GET BACK THE YOUTHS”, then you can follow on with this article. But if you have not read it, please go back and read that. My articles are short for I desire not to burden you with words. On the 2nd day of July, during our youth conference, I was passing along the hostel area to get our delegates to come and help to clean the compound for the day’s program. It was about 7am in the morning. A young lady approached me and said to me, “Leader, please do you have INSTAGRAM on your mobile? Hmmm! I was surprised. “INSTAGRAM? This early in the morning?” I muttered within me. To her I said, “I do not think I have it, I haven’t used it before. Let me check.” I was just being polite, handling her as an egg so that I Continue reading …

HOW TO GET THE YOUTHS BACK

youths

It was just in the afternoon on the 11th day of July 2016. I was just working the cloud when a question just dropped in my spirit: WHERE ARE THE YOUTHS?”, the voice asked me. As I continued to ponder over it, the same voice solemnly told me: “Until you know where these youths are, getting them back is impossible”. “Yes”, I concurred. Therefore, in this article, I just want to share with us on strategies of getting the youths back to the church and back to God. Before I do, we need to first of all understand what church is. Until we do, we will not appreciate the results of the efforts we will be making if we implement the solutions I will be sharing with us in this article. First, I want to say categorically that the church of our Lord Jesus Christ is not a building anywhere Continue reading …

Stop Lassa Fever

Hello Friends! Today, I want to share with us on something really important. For now it seems that the fumes are down. Yet, I dare tell you that something is still happening under the closed doors of ignorance around the world especially in developing countries like Nigeria. What am I talking about? It is the dreaded LASSA fever which has been proven to be transmitted by infected rats. When the menace of this ugly disease was high, the news all over carried it. It was given a national attack. Virtually everyone that has internet enabled phone connected to social media saw the information and even helped in transmitting the same for their loved ones to benefit from. This is good, but now what is happening? Do you still wash your hands with soap and water? Do you still fight against rats? How often do you cover your food items in air-tight Continue reading …
